Job description

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Traveling Millwright for our client, a fabrication and industrial systems company supporting custom equipment and conveyor installations. This is a senior-level role focused on installing, aligning, troubleshooting, and repairing custom-fabricated equipment and conveyor systems in both shop and field environments. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience with conveyors, fabrication work, and leading installations, and is comfortable traveling regularly to job sites.

Pay: $38–$45/hour DOE
Shift: Day Shift (schedule varies based on job site needs)
Position Type: Full-Time
Travel: Frequent travel required to job sites, shutdowns, and customer locations

Key Responsibilities
• Install, align, and troubleshoot conveyor systems including belt, roller, chain, and screw conveyors
• Perform field installation, repair, and modification of custom-fabricated equipment and structural components
• Cut, weld, fit, and modify components during installs and field repairs
• Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving bearings, pulleys, shafts, drives, and gearboxes
• Read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and mechanical layouts
• Plan job steps, organize workflow, and coordinate resources to minimize downtime
• Lead or support crews of up to 10 personnel in shop and field environments
• Execute installs and startups independently with minimal supervision
• Maintain tools, equipment, and safe work practices on all job sites

Required Qualifications
• 6+ years of experience as a millwright or senior industrial mechanical professional
• Strong experience installing and working on conveyor systems
• Background in fabrication shops, manufacturing, or conveyor-focused environments
• Welding and fabrication experience for installation and field modifications
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical systems and equipment
• Experience leading crews in shop and/or field environments
• Ability to work independently and lead projects in the field
• Willingness and ability to travel regularly for job site work (required)
• Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with shutdown work and project-based installations
• Experience working in industrial, aggregate, or heavy equipment environments
