Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Head Millwright to lead our maintenance team. This position involves overseeing all aspects of mechanical maintenance, ensuring that all sawmill machinery and equipment operate at peak efficiency. The Head Millwright will be responsible for the leadership, planning, and execution of maintenance strategies as well as hands-on technical work.
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and lead a team of millwrights and maintenance personnel.
  • Plan and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of all sawmill machinery and equipment.
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies to increase plant reliability and performance.
  • Manage budgets and forecast maintenance needs.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct and oversee regular inspections and make adjustments to machinery as needed.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment breakdowns and provide guidance during critical repairs.
  • Foster a collaborative and motivated team environment focused on improvement and efficiency.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Millwright with leadership responsibilities, preferably in the forestry or wood products sector.
  • Deep understanding of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
