Millwright & Welder Foreman (Agricultural/Industrial)


Location: Des Moines, IA

Pay: $30.00 per hour DOE (Weekly Pay | Overtime Available)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Occasional Overtime)

Position Overview


We are seeking a skilled Millwright & Welder Foreman to lead field operations across Central Iowa. You will supervise a small crew and work directly on critical agricultural and industrial mechanical systems.

In this role, you will manage daily site work while actively building, maintaining, and repairing heavy machinery. Your leadership ensures equipment like conveyors and grain elevators run safely and efficiently.

This is a full-time, long-term leadership position based out of Des Moines, IA. You will enjoy stable work, field autonomy, and daily travel throughout the region.


Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, mentor, and work alongside a small millwright crew on field sites.
  • Manage daily job site operations, safety protocols, and OSHA compliance.
  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial mechanical systems like conveyors and grain elevators.
  • Direct and execute maintenance during planned agricultural plant shutdowns.
  • Perform precise mechanical assembly and industrial field Stick welding.
  • Read and interpret complex blueprints, structural diagrams, and technical layouts.
  • Coordinate directly with Project Managers on daily site progress and goals.

Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Millwright Foreman managing a small field crew.
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on millwright experience with agricultural shutdown or turnaround work.
  • Proficiency in industrial Stick welding.
  • Comfortable traveling daily to various job sites across Central Iowa.
