Job description

The Millwright is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding industrial machinery and mechanical equipment to support safe, efficient, and continuous operations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, the ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions
  • Install, align, maintain, and repair industrial machinery and mechanical equipment (e.g., pumps, conveyors, motors, gearboxes, compressors, and production equipment).
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and work orders.
  • Perform precision alignment, leveling, and balancing of machinery.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machinery components as required.
  • Inspect equipment for damage or defects and recommend repairs or replacements.
  • Perform routine maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Support equipment upgrades, installations, and plant shutdown activities.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and lockout/tagout requirements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
  • Manage contractors
  • Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, and safety team.
  • Provide cross-functional support as needed to maintain efficient operations.

Education & Essential Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of a Millwright apprenticeship or equivalent technical training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Millwright or Industrial Maintenance Mechanic preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or plant environments strongly preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, bearings, drives, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Welding and fabrication skills (MIG, TIG, stick preferred).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA safety training.
  • Lockout/Tagout certification.
  • Welding certifications.
  • Confined Space Entry (if applicable).

Work Environment
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, and climbing.
