Description

Position Overview

This position supervises and services all fire extinguishers, suppression system cylinders, co2 cylinders and breathing tanks in accordance with the current manufacturers' recommendations. All work shall be performed per NFPA and DOT standards and regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Supports route service technicians with timely maintenance of fire extinguishers. 
  • Helps to prioritizes shop workflow to ensure timely completion of jobs and proper extinguisher swap stock levels are maintained. 
  • Helps maintain the accuracy of fire extinguisher swap program technician check in/out records. 
  • Help ensuring proper records are maintained, procedures and quality standards are followed for hydrostatic testing per NFPA code, manufactures' recommendation and DOT requirements. 
  • Assists in maintaining the proper maintenance of all shop equipment and calibration requirements. 
  • Provides exceptional and timely customer service in assisting customers via the phone or service counter. 
  • Responsible for keeping shop and work area safe, clean and organized at all times.
  • Assists in keeping spare and warehouse fleet maintained, clean and filled with gas for use at all times. 
  • Makes inventory and parts pick up and deliveries as needed and prepares parts requests and assists route service technicians with inventory checkout. 
  • Assists in building maintenance and repair, as well as performing other duties as requested by management.
  • Assists with shipping and receiving as needed. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, plus the ability to multi-task and work in a fast- paced team environment 
  • Exhibits attention to detail with high standards for accuracy and follow through.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Hold and maintains applicable distributor manufacture and jurisdictional certifications including but not limited to FEX-1. 
  • Ability to work overtime and or outside standard business hours and or weekends as needed to accommodate customer needs. 
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets Company requirements.
  • This is a safety sensitive position and will be subject to post accident, reasonable suspicion or contract required drug testing.
