Join We Care Daily Clinics as a Float Pool Nurse (LPN/RN) – Make an Impact Across Our Clinics and Mobile Units!

Job Title: Float Pool Dispensary Nurse
Location: Pierce and King County
Reports to: Float Pool Team Lead
Base Pay Rate: $41-68/hour

Position Summary

The Dispensary Nurse is responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of opioid agonist medications to members within WeCare Daily Clinics'. The role combines direct member care with critical operational responsibilities, including medication inventory and compliance oversight. The Dispensary Nurse ensures that all practices align with regulatory standards, clinic policies, and WeCare's mission of providing compassionate, member-centered care.

Responsibilities

Dispensary Operations

  • Dispense appropriate medication doses and account for all medication inventory used during a shift.
  • Organize and monitor daily dispensary activities, ensuring seamless workflows and operational compliance.
  • Report medication inventory and supply needs to the Nurse Clinical Supervisor for timely reordering.

Clinical Duties

  • Administer and read tuberculosis tests for members and facilitate referrals for chest x-rays as needed.
  • Accurately record all nursing documentation in the electronic medical records system, following professional standards.
  • Provide direct nursing support and clinical care as assigned by the Float Pool Team Lead.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Ensure the security of medications, member records, and other documentation required by the DEA, DOH, and other licensing agencies.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations, ensuring compliance at all times.
  • Participate in audits and regulatory reviews to uphold We Care's operational standards.

Team Collaboration & Development

  • Interact positively with all staff, supporting a collaborative and motivational work environment.
  • Attend required meetings and training sessions, contributing to the team's overall success and adherence to the treatment plan.

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a current Washington state nurse license (LPN or higher).
  • BLS certification (or the ability to complete within the first 3 months of hire).

Preferred Experience & Knowledge

  • Preferred but Not Required: Experience working in an Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) dispensary.
  • Preferred but Not Required: Knowledge of medication dosing and inventory management.
  • Experience in behavioral or mental health fields is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods during shifts.
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs., including supplies and files.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of member care experience in a clinical setting.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic medical record systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups and handle conflicts diplomatically.
  • No history of alcohol or other drug misuse and no evidence of misuse while employed.
  • Must pass required background checks and drug tests.

This role involves working in a mobile clinic environment, providing care in various community settings. Mobile operations require flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to bringing services directly to members, often in underserved or remote areas.
