The Shop Foreman is a Leadership Position within our Fleet Team. Theyย partner with the Fleet Manager, Fleet Supervisor and Fleet Coordinatorย for scheduling fleet maintenance work on a variety of different fleet vehicles ranging from Motorcoaches to Transit Vans. The Shop Foreman will supervise a diverse Fleet Team consisting of Technicians, Fleet Coordinators, Parts and Inventory Specialists and others. The Shop Foreman will work with the team to diagnosis and troubleshoot complex issues, manage work orders to ensure accurately billing, have advance understanding of heavy duty and light duty vehicle components, be familiar with fleet telematics systems, DVIR processes, monitor shop efficiency and performance and above all Lead with Humility.ย ย ย

ย Responsibilities:ย 

  • Be able to teach,ย coachย and lead others in a positive manner. Work to create learning and growth paths for all team members within the Fleet division.ย ย 
  • A strong ability to work with and hold vendors accountable. Create systems of work that can be completed in-house vs. vending out.ย ย 
  • Must be aย pro-activeย communicator. Communicate thoroughly with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure all critical necessary information isย shared outย accordingly.ย ย 
  • Verify and audit work orders for accuracyย pertaining toย allocatedย technician hours and associated parts.ย ย 
  • Maintain vehicle compliance (DVIRs) and update Samsara throughย Fleetioย to ensure all issues are resolved daily.ย ย 
  • Respond to road calls andย assistย withย road sideย repairs as needed.ย ย 
  • Maintain a clean,ย safeย and respectful work environment.ย ย 
  • Update and audit the following for each vehicle: Good2Go, SinglePoint, Samsara,ย Fleetio, Petro, Registration and Fleet insurance as needed.ย ย 
  • Be process driven and find ways to improve the flow of work through streamlining waste.ย ย 
  • Regularly inspect all vehicles for condition and operational safety, including physical appearance.ย ย 
  • Responsible for tracking,ย schedulingย and completing minor reported issues, for all vehiclesย ย 
  • Maintain fleet maintenance records: review driver defect reportsย on a daily basis; trouble-shoot/resolve issues to reduce the number of road calls to ensure a high level of safety for our drivers & customers.ย ย 
  • Track daily vehicle reports,ย maintenanceย and repair records to ensure all records areย accurateย and current.ย ย 
  • Makeย appropriate arrangementsย to have inoperable vehicles or equipment repaired or towed.ย ย 
  • Support the IT Team in the management of on-board shuttle technology such as Wi-Fi devices, telematicsย systemsย and tablets to ensure the systems are functional and installed accordingly.ย 
  • Other duties as assigned.ย 

ย Requirements:ย 

  • 5+ years ofย maintenance experience working with a variety of vehicles.ย ย 
  • 5+ years of leadership experienceย inย a fleet maintenance, automotiveย repair, orย transportation operations environmentย and or shop environment.ย 
  • Experience in leading the work of others and comfortable makingย difficult decisions.ย ย 
  • Understands budget concepts and how to reduce the costs of maintenance and repair activities.ย 
  • Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach to engaging internal teams and external vendors.ย 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and reduce outsourcing by building efficient in-house repair systems.ย 
  • Proficient in fleet management software (e.g.,ย Fleetio, Samsara) and other related systems (Good2Go, SinglePoint, Petro).ย 
  • Experience auditing and verifying work orders for labor hours andย partsย accuracy.ย ย
