Diesel Shop Foreman
Pay: $125,000.00 – $145,000.00 Annually
Job Type: Full-time

Location: Auburn, WA


Summary

A Advanced Septic and Construction Services is looking for a Diesel Shop Foreman. Our ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic and at least 5 years in a Foreman leadership role. You will both work alongside and oversee a small team of Diesel Mechanics.

Pay is based on experience and skill set.

You will be responsible for:

  • Repairing and maintaining both diesel and gas vehicles
  • Servicing fleets ranging from light to heavy-duty
  • Maintaining a variety of construction equipment from mini to full-size

ResponsibilitiesHeavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic Duties
  • Repair and maintain trucks, machinery, and equipment used in daily underground construction operations
  • Perform routine and specialized maintenance, including hydraulic, electrical, and pneumatic diagnostics and repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks
  • Conduct routine and annual DOT inspections on trucks, machinery, and equipment
  • Fabricate parts and tools necessary to complete specific tasks
  • Complete repairs both in the shop and on job sites
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs using Excel spreadsheets
Shop Foreman Duties
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations; communicate expectations and hold team members accountable for safety practices
  • Interview, mentor, train, and develop new team members
  • Participate in hiring and separation processes
  • Assist HR with performance reviews for diesel shop team members
  • Oversee full shop operations, including daily priorities, organization, and personnel management
  • Schedule staff based on shop and business needs
  • Manage orders for parts and consumables
  • Provide training and development for Diesel Mechanics and Technicians as needed
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment

Requirements
  • 10+ years of Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic experience
  • 5+ years of Foreman leadership experience
  • 4+ years of experience in automotive electrical systems (diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing/rewiring)
  • Availability to diagnose over the phone to assist swing shift mechanics during emergencies
  • Proficiency in diagnosing all systems
  • Strong electrical knowledge
  • Welding and fabrication proficiency
  • Confidence and experience in training and developing a team of diesel fleet mechanics
  • Valid WA State Driver’s License
  • Must be 23+ years of age to meet insurance requirements
  • Ability to meet MVR requirements
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen
  • High standard of integrity and a strong work ethic

Licenses/Certifications
  • Required: Valid WA State Driver’s License
  • Preferred: CDL
  • Preferred: DOT Certification in Air Brakes
