Job description

Sims-Lohman is hiring a Shop Utility team member with 2+ years' previous countertop fabrication with machine operation experience to work at our Columbus, Ohio location. We have first shift available. First shift hours are 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday with overtime as needed. This position will be utilized as needed within our shop operating a variety of cutting machinery to create tops and or hand polishing and other hand tools to complete the finished product.
Responsibilities include:
- Trim, scrape or polish countertops or parts, using hand grinders and equipment

- Use tape measure, hand tools, chop saws, and other fabrication tools
- Verify quality of finished countertops by inspecting them, comparing them to templates or measuring their dimensions
- Operate fabrication machinery to router or polish counter top edges
- Operate machinery to cut countertop pieces to specifications and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
- 2+ years' experience fabricating granite, quartz and laminate countertops highly preferred, and/or 2+ years' experience general industrial experience using saws, hand tools, hand grinder or polisher, and other types of machinery such as CNC.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools including hand grinders and hand routers
- Ability to read shop drawings and use a tape measure
- Ability to work with heavyweight
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
