Job Overview: This position reports to the Program Manager in support of the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) of facilities primarily located at the Kesselring Site and potentially the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, both located in upstate New York. The Technical Manager will be responsible for the preparation of policies and procedures for radiological and RCRA D&D activities under DD&R Task Order 4 at the Naval Reactors sites under the cognizance of the Department of Energy.

Key Responsbilities/Accountabilities: The Technical Manager will contribute to establishing the requisite administrative requirements to enable mobilization to the site(s) and the planning of subsequent D&D activities. The Technical Manager will interface with other Program staff to develop D&D strategies, coordinating and reporting to DOE and site stakeholders as appropriate. This position requires the ability to write reports and procedures, participate in project meetings, present and speak in front of a group, and work in a team environment.

Basic Qualifications: The position requires a minimum of five years of experience in the nuclear and/or D&D industry (working knowledge of D&D Industry standards) with a Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field of study required. Experience in the fields of construction, demolition, remediation, asbestos abatement, lead abatement, lifting & rigging preferred. Prior shipyard, DOE, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience strongly preferred.

Experience in radiological and environmental decontamination and decommissioning fields a plus. Must be a US Citizen; no dual citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Level L Security Clearance.

Ability to pass and maintain a medical clearance for entry into radiological areas. Occasional overtime and travel may be required (infrequent). Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
