Shipping Operations Supervisor

Location: Cocoa Beach, FL
Job Type: Contract to Hire
Shift: First Shift (may provide oversight for Second Shift)
Starting Pay: From $26.00/hour (Higher pay available based on experience)

Professional Summary

We are looking for an experienced Shipping Operations Supervisor to lead shipping and material handling activities within a structural steel fabrication facility. This position is responsible for coordinating daily loadout operations, ensuring shipments are accurate and on schedule, promoting a safe work environment, and providing leadership to the shipping team. The ideal candidate has experience in structural steel operations, equipment operation, and team supervision in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily shipping and loadout operations for structural steel products.
  • Verify that materials are properly loaded, secured, labeled, and prepared for shipment.
  • Review shipping paperwork, load tickets, and documentation for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and warehouse personnel to meet shipping schedules.
  • Maintain accurate shipping records using production or shipping software.
  • Train, mentor, and support shipping team members.
  • Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with workplace safety procedures.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide hands-on leadership while supporting day-to-day shipping activities.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural steel shipping, material handling, or related manufacturing operations.
  • At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes, telehandlers, vertical mast lifts, and forklifts.
  • Familiarity with Tekla EPMgo or similar production and shipping software is preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet production deadlines.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
