Seeking a skilled shipping manager to oversee warehouse operations for a manufacturing site in Irvine, CA.

Job Description

The Shipping Manager oversees day-to-day warehouse and shipping operations, ensuring products are received, stored, and shipped accurately and on time. This role maintains inventory control, supports a clean and organized manufacturing environment, and leads a small team while working extensively with ERP systems and Microsoft Office to manage shipping, receiving, and invoicing activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily shipping, receiving, inventory, and overall warehouse operations to ensure efficient product flow.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of warehouse personnel (approximately 2–3 team members).
  • Oversee domestic and international shipments using parcel and freight carriers, including FedEx, FedEx Freight, UPS, DHL, LTL, and FTL platforms.
  • Process shipping transactions, receiving activities, and invoicing within the ERP system accurately and on schedule.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments with internal teams such as Production, Purchasing, Sales, Quality, and Accounting, as well as external carriers, to prioritize orders and resolve issues.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, receiving, picking, packing, and material movement activities.
  • Review and verify shipping documentation, including packing slips, purchase orders, and invoices, for completeness and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable shipping regulations, quality requirements, and internal company procedures.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers safely and efficiently.
  • Use Microsoft Office and ERP systems to track inventory, prepare shipping documentation, and support logistics processes.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient warehouse environment in a clean manufacturing setting.
  • Support order fulfillment activities, including packing and shipping, to meet customer delivery expectations.
  • Help maintain appropriate levels of shipping supplies and materials to avoid operational delays.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of warehouse experience in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on shipping and receiving operations.
  • Proven experience in warehouse management and inventory management, including inventory control and cycle counting.
  • Hands-on experience with shipping and receiving, picking, packing, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems and the ability to process transactions, receiving, and invoicing within these platforms.
  • Solid Microsoft Office skills to support documentation, reporting, and communication.
  • Experience working with major shipping platforms and carriers, including FedEx, FedEx Freight, UPS, DHL, LTL, and FTL shipping.
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers safely and effectively.

  • ITAR qualification and ability to work in compliance with related requirements.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
