Job description

Coreshell's metallurgical Silicon anode technology delivers high capacity, fast-charging, and superior safety. Our low-cost liquid-phase nano-coating addresses critical electrode-surface degradation issues and enables batteries with a Silicon-dominant anode that have higher energy density, superior intrinsic thermal safety, and significantly lower cost/kWh compared to current LIBs. Our Si anode material is lower than the cost of graphite and 100% domestically sourced. We strive to transform the global automotive market by enabling low-cost and long-range EVs as a first step towards net-zero sustainability in the near future.
Position: Coreshell is seeking a Part-time Shipping & Logistics Specialist who will own day-to-day shipping and receiving activities across our R&D and manufacturing activities. This person will coordinate domestic and international shipments, including batteries, battery materials, chemicals, hazardous materials, and other dangerous goods, while ensuring shipments are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable regulations. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable preparing and packaging a shipment, completing dangerous goods documentation, coordinating with engineers on an unusual shipment, and troubleshooting a delayed delivery directly with a courier or freight forwarder. This individual will also support receiving, inventory accuracy, shipment planning, logistics record keeping, and the development of scalable shipping and logistics processes as Coreshell grows.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Own domestic and international shipments from planning and packaging through delivery.
  • Prepare battery, chemical, and dangerous goods shipments in compliance with DOT, IATA, IMDG, carrier, packaging, labeling, and documentation requirements.
  • Prepare shipping and customs documentation and coordinate with couriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other logistics providers.
  • Track shipments and proactively troubleshoot delays, customs holds, damage, lost shipments, and other carrier issues.
  • Manage shipping supplies, packaging requirements, and freight quotes.
  • Receive incoming materials and equipment and support inventory accuracy and organization.
  • Maintain accurate shipping, receiving, dangerous goods, and compliance records.
  • Help establish scalable shipping, receiving, and logistics processes as Coreshell grows.
  • Provide occasional hands-on support for facilities, EH&S, and other operational projects as needed.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of shipping, logistics, dangerous goods, or related experience, preferably in a Li-ion battery, chemical, manufacturing, or hard-tech environment.
  • Dangerous goods / hazmat shipping certification or training required (US DOT / IATA 49 CFR 172.704 / DGR 1.5 certification). Working knowledge of DOT and IATA dangerous goods requirements; IMDG experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience shipping lithium-ion batteries, chemicals, hazardous materials, or other dangerous goods.
  • Experience safely operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment; forklift certification preferred.
  • Experience with domestic and international shipping, freight forwarders, customs brokers, packaging, and shipping documentation.
  • Familiarity with FedEx Ship Manager or similar carrier shipping software.
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to independently troubleshoot urgent shipping issues.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with packages, materials, inventory, and receiving activities.
  • Clear verbal and written communicator comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs regularly and more with appropriate assistance.

Benefits & Location: San Leandro, CA. Part-time, onsite. Hourly rate of $20-27/hour with equity options. Applications will be screened as received.
