Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The shipping dispatchers are responsible for checking-in trucks; coordination of loading, generating BOL's making sure loads are loaded correctly, by verifying loader schematics. Monitor emails by sales and Verify info for dispatching local pick-ups and deliveries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Make sure trucks are checked in accurately and verified through our internal process.
  • Enter correct information into famous.
  • Ensure correct information is being entered in the web page when entering and launching a temperature recorder, this is a very important process.
  • Coordinate the loading of all trucks by their scheduled appointments and/or priority from sales.
  • Communicate any issues (product) to sales if/when they arise on orders.
  • Must communicate any special instructions to the loader prior to loading.
  • Make sure we enter notes on all orders regarding any issues.
  • Assure that all truck drivers sign for their BOL's.
  • Make sure that all manifests are reconciled, scanned, copied or faxed on a daily basis.
  • Assist with answering phones and assisting truck drivers with any questions that may arise.
  • Must make sure that all / any special instructions or procedures are followed through.
  • View and respond to all emails as necessary.
  • Must be able to multitask.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma required. Minimum 1 year of any distribution function required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of other Microsoft Office software. Experience and proficiency in database software a plus.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Team player who will exceed assigned responsibilities and assist others to reach objectives
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to deliver technical information in an easily understood manner across all departments

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
  • Able to travel/relocate as required
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Famous software knowledge a plus

WORK ENVIORNMENT
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is exposed to a cold (34-36 degrees F) and wet manufacturing environment, the smell of chlorine, outside weather conditions, uneven walking surfaces, heavy machinery, forklift traffic and loud noise.
