Job Summary:

Person will be responsible for all shipping and receiving activities, management of finished goods, customer overrun inventory and packaging supplies. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•    Forward daily customer shipping transactions and incoming packing lists to Accounting on a daily basis.

•    Verify if quantities produced and/or plated will satisfy the customer order quantity. If the quantity produced does not satisfy the order quantity, advise Expeditor that the job is short.

•    Determine proper packaging to ship parts to and from outside services, follow work instructions, and ship to customer without damage.

•    Review UPS, Federal Express and Local Delivery Service statements to help control shipping expenses.

•    Pull product ahead of ship date to eliminate surprises on the day the parts are to be shipped.

•    Review purchase orders for outside services and packing materials to make sure they are properly closed.

•    Adjust overruns into inventory in a timely manner.

•    Ensure the accuracy of overrun and finished goods inventory.

•    Verify information and quantities for non-stock or special order items.

•    Accountable for proper shipping of all items, to include proper containers, correct count, appropriate packing slip/invoice, and all other associated paperwork.

•    Receive product, verifies quantity in ERP system, and notifies Purchasing of any discrepancies.

•    Maintain a clean, organized Shipping/Receiving area.

•    Work with Customer Service on daily shipping requirements.

Additional Responsibilities:

•    When requested, may work on special projects and various related assignments.

•    May be required to work in various areas of operations when necessary, assist accounting with cycle counting and year-end inventory when necessary.

•    May be required to compile various reports and data tracking.

•    Performs other related duties and assignments as required.

The employee must also occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Employee must have the ability to solve practical problems, and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  The noise level in the work environment may range from moderate to loud.

Education, Skills and Experience:

•    High school diploma or GED required.

•    Minimum two years experience in Shipping/Receiving.

•    Ability to use Excel, Word and Power Point.

•    Ability to use Microsoft Outlook to communicate with Customers, Vendors and inter office staff on a regular basis.

•    Familiar with custom software programs for freight vendors; UPS, Fed-Ex, ETC.

•    Basic arithmetic skills and attention to details is required. 

•    Ability to handle multiple priorities

•    Good communication skills.

•    Work independently with minimal supervision.
