Job description

Westerman, Inc., an employee-owned company, is a multiple site manufacturer of production and storage equipment within the oil, gas, and nuclear industries. Our equipment helps optimize well pad design, improve separation efficiency and lower overall equipment spend through high-performance surface separation and processing technology. Our equipment is setting new standards for performance and economics nationwide.

SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of the Shipping Coordinator is maintaining the outflow of product and material. The Clerk may quote, ship, and audit shipments for the plant. This position is also responsible for managing daily product and material movement throughout the facility. This role accurately performs system transactions while communicating potential supply problems to management to minimize customer issues.

A successful candidate is a self-motivated multi-tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic and communication skills to ensure customer needs are met in a timely manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Regular and punctual attendance at work is an essential job function of each position and is necessary to your individual effectiveness and that of your work group. Regular and punctual attendance is required of all employees.

  • Quoting and Booking Product Shipments based on production schedule and utilizing approved trucking companies.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed for the load, including bills of lading.
  • Ensure all loads have the appropriate pictures and ship loose items.
  • Utilize organization and attention to detail to ensure all items are included for each shipment and shipments are on time.
  • Hold trucking/shipping companies accountable for on time service, delivery, and rates.
  • Accurately perform system transactions.
  • Enter information into the computer system.
  • Communicate potential problems to Management.
  • Maintain Daily Material Movement schedule.
  • Manage inventory parts and supplies as needed.
  • Other duties as required and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year previous experience with trucking companies (scheduling, rates, etc.).
  • 6 months of previous logistics experience or equivalent knowledge.
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, ERP system).
  • Basic math skills for verification of receipt quantities.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic.
  • Standard safety training including forklift and crane as needed.
  • Driving is an essential function of the job; clean driving record required.
