Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for coordinating the shipping and receiving processes of preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments. Responsible for safely operating company van while locally transporting product.


Essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Package boxes, crates and prepare final shipment of large variety of parts.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of packaging requirements for each part/customer.
  • Create packing lists.
  • Properly package materials for shipping locally, domestically, and internationally.
  • Evaluate export requirements and ensure compliance of all shipment related documentation and reporting.
  • Ensure accurate use of Sage 500 ERP, FedEx and UPS software.
  • Act as last audit point to ensure all shipment documentation is complete accurate and present.
  • Receive, count, and process receipt of goods in Sage 500 for incoming parts, products and/or materials and distribute incoming shipment contents to appropriate parties.
  • Assure adherence and consistency of DAI shipping and receiving procedures.
  • Act as primary contact for shipping companies and couriers.
  • Make routine or periodic deliveries of outgoing shipments, which requires possession of a valid state driver’s license.
  • Follow best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading van/trucks.
  • Communicate with manager and other team members to complete accurate, on-time deliveries and/or pick-ups.
  • Communicate to manager when basic van maintenance is needed.
  • Obtain customer signatures upon delivery when required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Assure proper completion of end of shift duties including shipping reports, required TPM, and 6S activity.
  • Know and follow all company safety rules and regulations.


Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills, Knowledge Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Good communication skills
  • Valid Ohio Driver’s License
  • Licensed and Certified for Forklift Operation
  • Experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment
  • Excellent attendance & dependability a must

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

  • Ability to stand entire 8-hour shift (plus overtime, when required)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. multiple times per shift.
  • Close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: viewing a computer terminal; reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • Working in a manufacturing environment
