Job description

Adecco is hiring immediately for a Shipping/Receiving position in Hidalgo, TX. Weekly pay starting at $14.50 per/hr. This is an opportunity that will give you valuable experience to enhance your career, while working with a great company!

SUMMARY

Handle, verify, record, and prepare items for both shipping and receiving functions. Assists Inventory Control with various functions as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Education and/or Experience - High School diploma or equivalent, and 1 to 2 years’ experience in a related shipping/receiving environment.

Physical Demands & Environment - Physically mobile, must be able to lift, twist, stand, bend, within a manufacturing, shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading area setting.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Review and verify incoming and outgoing shipments against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.

  • Assembles wooden, cardboard, or other types of containers or selects preassembled containers.

  • Inserts, packs, seals, secures items into containers in such a way to prevent damage to items during shipment.

  • Stamps, stencil, or glue identifying information, custom markings, and / or shipping instructions onto crates or containers.

  • Interface positively and effectively with manufacturing ERP systems, intercompany departments, customers, shipping companies, packing companies, or other related companies / applications / organizations.

  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, shortages, overages, etc. Corresponds with and resolves issues with Ametek Purchasing and / or suppliers.

  • Routes items to internal departments, stock items, and pick items from inventory.

  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure all shipments meet specifications.

  • Maintains proper inventory levels of shipping materials and supplies.

  • Operates power standing forklift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving areas to storage or work areas.

  • Must follow all safety policy and procedures.

  • Must always follow good housekeeping practices including 5S .

  • Must have basic knowledge of Import / Export practices and procedures.

  • Must strive to meet on-time delivery requirements set forth by the company.
