Shipping and Receiving Coordinator

Location:

Troy, VA

Shift:

7:00AM-3:30PM, Monday-Friday

Pay Rate:

$20.00-$24.00, depending on experience

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail‐oriented Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to support daily warehouse operations for one of our manufacturing clients in Troy, VA. This role is responsible for receiving inbound materials, preparing outbound shipments, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring all logistics activities run smoothly. The ideal candidate has experience in shipping, warehousing, or manufacturing environments and thrives in a fast‐paced, hands‐on setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming materials: unload trucks, inspect shipments for damage, verify contents against purchase orders, and stock inventory.
  • Prepare outgoing shipments: pack, seal, label, and stage products; create bills of lading and shipping documentation.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using RF scanners or warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Coordinate logistics with carriers and shipping companies; schedule pickups and manage dock activity.
  • Organize warehouse space to ensure efficient material flow and safe operations.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
  • Follow all safety protocols and contribute to a clean, organized work environment.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, warehousing, or manufacturing.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a fast‐moving environment.
  • Familiarity with MRP/ERP systems and basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Reliable, self‐motivated, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills and a team‐oriented mindset.
  • Comfortable learning new systems, tools, and warehouse processes.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs throughout the shift.

Work Environment

  • Fast‐paced production and warehouse facility.
  • May require overtime or flexible scheduling based on operational needs.
