Job description

SUMMARY-

The Store Clerk will ensure that there is an adequate and timely flow of materials and equipment to support the timely and cost-effective completion of projects and day to day operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(Other duties may be assigned)-

Manage the orders of material and equipment to meet project requirements

Coordinate the delivery of supplies according to priorities and specifications

Maintain constant contact with vendors and shipping companies while deliveries are in route

Communicate with vendors and shipping companies to ensure that all critical deliveries arrive on time

Report any pending delivery delays to project management immediately

Resolve problems to speed up delivery of orders

Inspect orders upon arrival to ensure the correct quality and quantity

Monitor inventory of supplies for different jobs or sites

Place orders when needed aiming for timely delivery and competitive price

Arrange the movement of material between locations

Maintain good relationships with suppliers and vendors

Keep accurate records

Additional duties as assigned by management

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE-

Post-secondary educational degree (2 to 4 year degree from college, university, technical school, military, vocational or other advanced educational institution)REQUIRED

Candidates are preferred who offer the following:

Two years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or construction environment

Previous forklift experience

LANGUAGE SKILLS-

Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures, manuals, regulations, and codes

Ability to write business reports and correspondence

Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, contractors, employees and outside officials to the company

Clear, concise oral and written communication skills

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS-

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, volume, and net present value. Able to apply concepts of algebra and geometry along with basic math (adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing)

REASONING ABILITY-

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

TECHNICAL SKILLS-

Ability to gather information and perform root cause analysis and problem solving

Ability to create reports for review by upper management

Ability to lead teams in waste reduction efforts

Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS-

Forklift License or ability to obtain one

PHYSICAL DEMANDS-

Employee is regularly required to walk, talk, and hear

Employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, feel; and reach with hands and arms

The employee is occasionally required to sit

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus

WORK ENVIRONMENT-

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and fumes of airborne particles

The noise level in the work environment is usually loud

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS-

Performance will be measured by the adequate and timely flow of materials and equipment to support the timely and cost-effective completion of projects and day to day operations.
