Job description

Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for processing shipments in Sturges ERP System according to customer specifications and company requirements.
  • Prepares Customer specific labels in barcode software
  • Prepares product Certificates of Conformance in computer
  • Processes shipments in UPS, FedEx computer systems and other Customer specific online portals
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies with customer shipments to prevent potential customer complaints.
  • Coordinates scheduled pick-ups with freight companies.
  • Requests required shipment details with customers and/or logistic companies for export orders.
  • Coordinates daily shipments with Production Supervisors and requests additional resources when needed
  • Verifies accuracy of item count/weights and order details.
  • Assists with boxing and palletizing customer orders for shipments.
  • Maintains documentation of orders shipped.
  • Manages shipping material inventory levels.
  • Assist with cycle counts.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area.


Education & Qualifications:

  • Must have strong computer skills
  • Shipping and/or order processing experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to perform math calculations.
  • Must be detailed oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus on following documented shipping instructions.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently as well with a team.
  • Able to read, write and fluently communicate in English.
  • This position is deemed a safety sensitive position always requiring alertness.
  • Successful results of completed Post Offer Assessment Test and Post Offer Drug Test required.
