About this Role
The Shipping Auditor is responsible for verifying the accuracy of all outbound shipments of commercial HVAC equipment, components, and accessories. This role ensures that products, documentation, labeling, and transportation requirements meet company standards and customer specifications before shipment. The Shipping Auditor works closely with Shipping, Warehouse, Production, and Transportation teams to maintain high levels of quality, inventory accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
  • Audit outbound shipments to ensure correct products, quantities, serial numbers, and customer requirements are met.
  • Verify shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, shipping labels, export documents, and carrier paperwork.
  • Confirm units are properly configured, packaged, labeled, and secured for transportation.
  • Inspect HVAC equipment for visible damage, completeness, and shipping readiness.
  • Validate inventory transactions and investigate discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
  • Conduct final shipment quality checks before carrier pickup.
  • Ensure compliance with company shipping procedures, safety standards, and transportation regulations.
  • Collaborate with warehouse personnel, material handlers, production teams, and carriers to resolve shipment issues.
  • Maintain accurate audit records and generate reports on shipping quality, inventory variances, and compliance metrics.
  • Identify trends in shipping errors and recommend process improvements.
  • Support cycle counts, inventory audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with customer claim investigations related to shipping shortages, damages, or incorrect shipments.

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in shipping, warehousing, logistics, inventory control, or auditing
  • 1+ years of experience working with commercial HVAC or industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment, including experience with shipping documentation and freight carrier processes
  • 2+ years of experience or demonstrated proficiency in data entry using a database or computer software
  • 2+ years of experience using word processing and spreadsheet software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • 2+ years of experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, or SAP
  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a Forklift Certification
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Understanding of commercial HVAC products and components.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and quality control practices.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify operational trends.
  • Familiarity with DOT, freight, and transportation regulations.
  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a Certified Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Driver certification

Pay Range
The hourly rate for this position is between $15 - $30 per hour. Factors which may affect pay within this range include, but are not limited to, skills, education, experience, and other unique qualifications of the successful candidate.
