What are Ship Channel jobs?

Ship Channel jobs involve various roles related to the operation, maintenance, and management of navigable waterways used by ships, such as port workers, channel pilots, dredge operators, and logistics coordinators. Job description

Job Requisition: Channel Partnerships Director / Senior Channel Partnerships Manager
Company: Giftogram
Team: Business Development / Partnerships
Location: Whippany, NJ / Hybrid (HQ + Work From Home)
Level: Mid-Senior (title scoped to experience)
Growth Path: Opportunity to grow into Head of Partnerships
Role Overview
Giftogram is seeking a mid to senior partnerships leader to refine and execute our channel partnerships strategy, expanding and deepening relationships that drive meaningful distribution, revenue, and product leverage. You'll work cross-functionally with BD, Product, and Engineering to turn partnerships into real, shipped integrations and repeatable go-to-market motions.
This role is ideal for someone who can operate at both the strategy and execution layers: shaping the plan, opening doors, and doing the work to build and scale partner programs.
Responsibilities
1) Refine channel partnerships strategy (with leadership + BD)
  • Partner with existing management and the BD team to define and refresh the channel strategy, including partner segmentation, ICPs, value propositions, and prioritization.
  • Build a clear plan for how partnerships fit into Giftogram's growth model (referrals, resellers, platform/integration partners, agencies, etc.).
  • Establish partner goals, success metrics, and operating cadence (pipeline, activations, revenue, attach, retention).
2) Execute and scale partnerships (expand breadth + deepen existing)
  • Build on existing partnerships to drive incremental revenue and partner-sourced pipeline.
  • Identify and secure new channel partners, from initial outreach through negotiation, launch, and ongoing growth.
  • Create repeatable processes for onboarding, enablement, co-marketing/co-selling, and partner performance management.
  • Own partner business reviews, joint planning, and continuous optimization.
3) Drive cross-functional execution with Product + Engineering
  • Work closely with Product and Dev to scope, prioritize, and deliver partnership-related initiatives (integrations, workflows, APIs, shared roadmaps).
  • Translate partner needs into clear requirements and business cases; align internal stakeholders on tradeoffs and timelines.
  • Ensure partnerships are not "paper deals" but are implemented, activated, and measurable.
4) Leverage your network to accelerate access and momentum
  • Use your existing network (or proven ability to build one quickly) to open doors with priority partners.
  • Represent Giftogram externally with credibility, building trust with senior stakeholders and partner decision-makers.
What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months)
  • A clear channel strategy and partner scorecard is in place and actively driving decisions.
  • Existing partnerships show measurable lift (pipeline, revenue, activation, attach rate, or retention, depending on partnership model).
  • Multiple new channel partners are signed and launched, not just contracted.
  • A repeatable partner motion exists (enablement + joint GTM + ongoing management), with clear internal ownership and cadence.
  • Strong working rhythm established with Product and Engineering to consistently deliver partner priorities.
Qualifications
  • 5-10+ years in partnerships, BD, or channel alliances (title adjusted based on experience).
  • Track record of building and scaling channel partnerships that drive revenue or meaningful distribution.
  • Strong cross-functional operator: experienced working with Product and Engineering to ship integrations or partner-enabled capabilities.
  • Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Analytical mindset: able to define metrics, evaluate partner performance, and prioritize what drives results.
Nice to Have
  • Experience in B2B SaaS, fintech/payments, rewards/incentives, HR/benefits, or adjacent ecosystems.
  • Experience building partner programs from the ground up (tiers, incentives, enablement materials, deal registration, etc.).
  • Experience with technical integrations and API-based partnerships.
Working Style
  • High ownership and bias toward action (strategy + execution).
  • Comfortable with ambiguity; able to build structure where it doesn't exist yet.
  • Collaborative and low-ego approach, able to align leadership, BD, Product, and Dev toward shared outcomes.
Logistics
  • Hybrid role: time split between HQ and WFH (with flexibility based on team needs and partner meetings).
  • Travel: occasional (as needed for key partner meetings and events).
Compensation & Benefits
  • Competitive Base Salary + Annual Bonus, with the opportunity to participate in equity incentive plan based on performance and impact
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision; 401(k) matching; flexible PTO
