Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator – Savannah Terminal


NGL Transportation is seeking an experienced Dispatcher / Operations Coordinator to join our Savannah Terminal team. This position is responsible for the daily management of intermodal drivers, container movements, port operations, and on-time customer deliveries.


This is not an entry-level administrative position. We are seeking a transportation professional with dispatching experience who can independently manage drivers, coordinate freight movement, and ensure efficient terminal operations.


Location : Savannah, Georgia
Employment Type : Full-Time

Primary Responsibilities
• Manage daily dispatch operations for company drivers and owner-operators
• Coordinate container pickups and deliveries from the Port of Savannah
• Monitor driver locations, HOS availability, and route efficiency
• Assign loads and schedule deliveries to ensure on-time service
• Communicate continuously with drivers regarding load status, delays, and customer requirements
• Monitor port appointments, container availability, terminal conditions, and delivery schedules
• Minimize demurrage, detention, storage, and other avoidable accessorial charges
• Track and manage daily load progress from pickup through final delivery
• Coordinate with customers, brokers, warehouses, and internal departments
• Utilize TMS, GPS tracking systems, Samsara, and other operational software
• Review BOLs, PODs, dispatch records, and shipment documentation
• Work closely with Safety, Maintenance, and Management teams
• Provide after-hours and limited weekend operational support when necessary (additional compensation provided)


Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of dispatching experience required
• Transportation, trucking, intermodal, drayage, or logistics experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of driver HOS regulations and dispatch planning
• Experience communicating with drivers and managing daily operations
• Ability to prioritize and make operational decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and transportation software
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications
• Intermodal or Port of Savannah experience
• TMS experience
• Samsara experience
• Bilingual (English/Korean or English/Spanish) preferred

• Must reside within approximately one hour of Savannah or Pooler, Georgia
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced transportation environment
• Ability to manage multiple drivers and loads simultaneously
• Must be dependable and available to support operations during critical situations
