Summary

The ideal candidate will assist the sheeter operater to run a sheeter machine to cut the rolls into sheets of the specified board size and standard quality. They will also need to run the sheeter through breaks and run the sheeter if the main operator is out.

The selected candidates will work Monday to Friday nights from 6 PM to 4 AM.

Responsibilities

Summary of essential job functions and responsibilities:

  • Must be able to understand and follow computer instructions to print reports after the completion of every job.
  • Must learn to keep accurate production records and learn to accurately use different measuring devices including tape measures, calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance by greasing and oiling the machinery as needed.
  • Use specification sheets to determine what roll size to use and what the cut-off size should be.
  • Adjust the roll holder to fit the size of the new roll.
  • Adjust the PIV speed of the sheeter machine to cut the size of sheets needed.
  • Continuously inspects the product detecting any quality deficiencies.
  • Use an electric pallet jack to haul the cut sheets to the proper staging area.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the machinery and the work area around it.
  • Follow all applicable AVP procedures and make recommendations for system improvements as identified.
  • Must be capable of keeping accurate records, including the completion of all required forms; and the accurate use of different measuring devices including tape measures, and all other applicable gauges for your responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) AND one to two years machine operator experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, preferably in the folding carton industry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.ย 
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
