Job description

Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager
Location: Mason, OH
Duration: 6 Months
Start Date: Immediate Need
Type: 1099 Contractor | Opportunity for Full-Time Conversion


Compensation
  • Hourly Rate: $55/hr
  • Per Diem: $140/Day on seven days
  • Completion Bonus: $150/month
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule
  • M-F | 0700 - 1500 | 40hrs/week

Project Scope

The EHS manager will oversee environmental, health, and safety protocols within a manufacturing facility, ensuring full compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role is focused on driving comprehensive EHS programs, maintaining regulatory compliance, and aligning with internal safety standards. Strong support from corporate and regional leadership will be provided, with potential for full-time conversion based on performance.


Qualifications
  • 5+ years in EHS in manufacturing
  • OSHA 1910

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct site safety inspections and employee safety orientations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Manage hazardous materials and perform site audits
  • Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Promote a proactive, zero-incident safety culture through training and engagement
  • Monitor and report EHS metrics, performance, and audit readiness
  • Develop and lead EHS initiatives, targets, and strategic programs
  • Guide the implementation of EHS management systems through leadership and coaching
  • Utilize data-driven insights to improve safety performance and reduce risk
  • Manage compliance through audits, permitting, and documentation
  • Serve as the primary contact for regulatory inspections
  • Develop and maintain emergency preparedness and operational safety programs
  • Maintain EHS documentation, postings, and regulatory submissions
  • Support audits and inspections, including stormwater evaluations
  • Conduct full and partial EHS audits for ongoing compliance

Required Skills & Knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and manufacturing safety standards
  • Experience with LOTO, PPE, hazardous materials, and machine guarding
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams
  • OSHA outreach training experience (preferred)
  • High level of organization, professionalism, and confidentiality
