Job description

The Puyenpa family of companies are comprised of multiple SBA Certified Native American Tribal 8(a) and multi-certified organizations focused on delivering Information Technology, Management Consulting, and General Construction solutions to the Federal Government along with the Commercial Sector. We are actively seeking an Information Security Specialist to support a JTF-GTMO program in Guantanamo Bay . This position requires an active DoD Top Secret SCI. This position is full time, and onsite.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Puyenpa team supporting JTF-GTMO. The main responsibilities of the role include:
The Information Security Specialist conducts tasks in support of JTF-GTMO collateral and SCI Information Security Programs. Personnel in this role will primarily operate out of the JTF-GTMO HQ building, while media destruction duties are performed at the Installation Services Building (Media Destruction Center). The core mission involves assessing program health, managing classification and CUI, executing security training, and overseeing the secure destruction of classified materials.
  • Program Assessments: Conduct internal security assessments using established checklists, evaluate marking accuracy via document sampling, document on-the-spot corrections, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Classification Management: Assist with original and derivative classification, mandatory declassification, and prepublication reviews. Maintain the Security Classification Guide (SCG) library.
  • CUI Oversight: Implement the Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) program by conducting data collection, sampling for marking compliance, and initiating preliminary inquiries.
  • Incident Response: Process reported or suspected security incidents per local policy, conduct preliminary inquiries, and maintain incident databases to identify trends.
  • SETA Training: Execute a comprehensive Security, Education, Awareness, and Training (SETA) program, including newcomer orientations, annual training, and computer-based training (CBTs).
  • Courier Operations: Process courier requests, prepare authorization letters within 3 business days, and administer Defense Courier Service (DCS) pickup and delivery actions.
  • Media Destruction: Operate and maintain the SEM Model 23/5 disintegrator and evacuation system. Provide witness capability for the destruction of Top Secret, SAP, SCI, and other sensitive materials.

Required Deliverables:
  • Weekly: Courier database metrics.
  • Monthly: SETA training completion rates.
  • Quarterly: Classification data collection for the Annual Agency Report.
  • As Required: Security incident reports, CUI discrepancy reports, disintegrator evaluation/parts reports, and destruction supply requests (submitted 30 days in advance).
