Position Overview

Eagle Globe Protective Services (EGPS) is actively hiring Guardian Certified Safe School Officers to support school safety operations across assigned campuses.

This role is focused on visible deterrence, rapid response, and maintaining a safe environment for students and staff. We are looking for professionals who bring discipline, awareness, and a strong sense of responsibility to the position.

Pay & Compensation

ยท $24/hour starting rate

ยท 90-day probationary period

ยท $26/hour after successful completion of probation

ยท Pay may vary based on experience, certifications, and overall qualifications (final rate determined by hiring manager)

Key Responsibilities

ยท Maintain a visible security presence on assigned campus

ยท Conduct daily exterior security checks and safety assessments

ยท Respond to immediate threats or incidents

ยท Submit daily reports and risk assessments

ยท Coordinate with:

  • School administration
  • Local law enforcement
  • EGPS leadership

Requirements:

Mandatory Requirements

ยท Guardian Certification (State of Florida) โ€“ REQUIRED (Can be acquired through academy; additional information provided during interview)

ยท Active Florida Class D & G License (must be current)

ยท Must have valid CCW (Concealed Carry License)

ยท Must own and carry a personal duty firearm:

-Glock 19, Glock 17, or Glock 45 (any of these models, versions, or generation)

ยท Clean background (able to pass screening)

ยท Must pass drug screening and psychological evaluation

ยท Valid driverโ€™s license and reliable transportation

ยท High school diploma or equivalent

ยท Completion of all required Safe School Officer (SSO) training


Experience Requirements

ยท Law enforcement and/or military experience (preferred, not required)

ยท Prior armed security or school security experience is a plus

ยท Candidates without LEO/military background must demonstrate strong discipline, reliability, and ability to perform in a high-responsibility environment

Compliance & State Reporting Requirements (Florida)

All Safe School Officers must comply with Florida law and EGPS reporting standards:

ยท EGPS is required to notify the County Sheriffโ€™s Office and the Office of Safe Schools within 72 hours if:

  • An SSO is dismissed for misconduct or formally disciplined
  • An SSO discharges a firearm in the line of duty (excluding training)

ยท Must adhere to all state and federal firearm laws, including age-related requirements (Minimum age of 21 years preferred in alignment with firearm regulations)
