Job description

Job Title: General Manager
Category: Restaurant / Food and Beverage
Employment Type: Full-time
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced, high-energy General Manager to lead our team, oversee daily operations, and maintain the high standards of hospitality and quality our guests love. This is a strictly hands-on position. We operate with a "lead-by-example" mentality, meaning you must have the skills, agility, and willingness to step in and successfully execute any position in the building-whether that means jumping on the line during a heavy rush, running plates, hosting, or washing dishes. If you are a collaborative leader who thrives in the trenches with your team, we want to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
Hands-On Floor Leadership: Lead from the floor, not an office. Actively support the team during peak hours by stepping into any FOH or BOH role as needed to ensure seamless guest service.
Daily Operations: Oversee all front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH) operations to ensure exceptional food quality, presentation, and cleanliness.
Team Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, and mentor a dedicated staff. Foster a positive, collaborative, and motivating work culture through side-by-side training.
Financial Management: Manage labor costs, food waste, inventory levels, and operational expenses to maximize profitability.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health standards, maintaining a clean and safe environment for both guests and staff (ServSafe standards).
Vendor & Facility Management: Coordinate with suppliers, manage inventory orders, and oversee routine facility maintenance and equipment repairs.
Qualifications
Experience: 3 years of restaurant management experience, preferably in a high-volume diner or full-service casual dining setting.
Operational Versatility: Proven capability and willingness to effectively execute all restaurant roles (both kitchen and front-of-house) whenever the business demands it.
Leadership Style: Strong track record of building, training, and retaining successful teams by leading from the front.
Skills: Strong financial acumen (experience managing P&L, labor percentages, and food costs) and proficiency with modern restaurant POS systems.
Certifications: Active ServSafe Manager certification (or willingness to obtain one quickly).
What We Offer
Competitive salary based on experience
Opportunities for professional growth and leadership development
A vibrant, community-focused, and family-oriented work environment
