Job Summary
The Server/Bartender is responsible for providing professional, courteous, and efficient food and beverage service to residents and guests in accordance with Del Webb Legacy Hills Café standards. This position delivers an exceptional dining and bar experience by accurately taking and entering orders, preparing and serving beverages, processing payments, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and ensuring guest satisfaction through attentive and knowledgeable service. The Server/Bartender supports all front-of-house operations while promoting a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits and positive resident experiences.

Job Duties:
  • Promptly and professionally serve food and beverages to residents and guests while maintaining a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Provide exceptional guest service in both the dining room and bar areas while interacting courteously with residents, guests, coworkers, and management.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all food menus, beverages, cocktails, wines, beers, daily specials, café hours, and community guidelines.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and enter all orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system, ensuring proper pricing and order accuracy.
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes, portion standards, and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of liquor classifications, beer styles, wine selections, garnishes, glassware, and specialty beverages.
  • Promote menu items, specialty beverages, and premium liquor selections through effective upselling techniques.
  • Verify guest identification and comply with all local and state alcohol service laws and TIPS/ServSafe Alcohol procedures.
  • Safely and effectively manage food allergies and dietary restrictions while communicating clearly with guests, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Maintain clean, organized, sanitized, and properly stocked dining room, bar, and service stations throughout each shift.
  • Complete all assigned opening, ongoing, and closing duties, including side work, stocking supplies, rolling silverware, cleaning equipment, disposing of trash, and restocking liquor, beer, wine, and ice.
  • Assist with preparing the dining room for service and maintaining a steady flow of dishes, trays, glassware, linens, and supplies between the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Process guest payments accurately, including cash handling, credit card transactions, balancing cash drawers, and completing end-of-shift paperwork.
  • Maintain working knowledge of beer, soda, and beverage systems, including changing kegs and beverage lines as needed.
  • Support and assist fellow team members across departments to ensure efficient operations and excellent guest experiences.
  • Communicate effectively with hosts, kitchen staff, management, and service team members regarding guest requests, special accommodations, inventory shortages, or operational concerns.
  • Calmly and professionally address guest concerns or complaints and notify management when appropriate.
  • Observe and comply with all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling regulations and immediately report concerns to management.
  • Attend all required meetings, trainings, and team-building sessions in proper uniform and on time.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, positive attitude, and respectful working relationships with residents, guests, vendors, coworkers, and management.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Required Education, Training, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of serving and/or bartending experience in a full-service restaurant environment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, beverage service, and restaurant operations.
  • Working knowledge of restaurant Point of Sale (POS) systems.
  • Knowledge of local and state alcohol service laws required.
  • Must be ServSafe Alcohol Certified or possess TIPS equivalent certification.
  • Food Handler Certification required.

Work Environment:
