Fully Remote Position
Position: Service Line Director (Surgery & Anesthesia)
Status: Salary, Exempt, Full-Time
Reports to: VP Program Operations
Job Summary: The Service Line Director (SLD) works to ensure that all services are delivered and executed. The SLD, in conjunction with the VP Program Operations, is responsible for the implementation of programs, day-to-day management, and retention of new and established programs at SHP. The SLD establishes effective strategies for program implementation, integration, and process optimization with the goal of increasing service line growth, efficiency, and physician and patient experience. SLD works across organizational teams to ensure partner satisfaction and quality. The SLD is responsible for the management of contracts and the day-to-day cost management of programs. This position may provide an opportunity for growth in the organization.
Essential Functions:
  • Serves as the primary contact for all hospital partners and SHP-employed clinicians
  • Develops and maintains positive and collaborative relationships with hospital administration, middle management, community physicians, and others to drive optimization of programs
  • Leads cross-functional activities internally to support team objectives and goals
  • Oversees support to physician offices regarding SHP programs operations, to include start-up of clinic environments in identified programs
  • Partners with medical leadership in a systematic approach to identify improvement opportunities, root cause analysis, recommending solutions, and implementing process improvements
  • Prepare, deliver, and facilitate both client and internal business presentations in meetings on a monthly or quarterly basis, including the delivery of data analytics
  • Monitor and modify all aspects of program contract delivery and revisions
  • Manages P&L's, operational day- to- day cost management, and budgeting in collaboration with finance
  • Works with SHP executive and medical leadership team to ensure quality, recruitment, and retention of partners
  • Monitors and tracks partner and hospital satisfaction of all programs and establishes improvement plans as needed
  • Oversight of any office personnel related to billing/clinic programs
  • Participate in meetings such as, and not limited to, surgeon meetings, quality meetings, trauma meetings, etc.
  • Maintains strict patient, provider, and employee confidentiality in compliance with all federal, state, and hospital laws and guidelines for release of information

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Program operations experience preferred.

Work Environment:
This job may work in a remote environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones.
Physical Demands:

  • The employee is required to sit in front of a computer throughout the workday. The employee will infrequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and working with two monitors.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
SHP normal business hours are Monday through Friday. Some flexibility in hours may be allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and must work a minimum of 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel: Some travel is required for periodic site visits and education or training, etc.
