Job description

Are you a passionate Civil Engineer looking for the next step in your career? At WDA Design Group, we don’t just design projects—we shape communities. As a well-established, multi-disciplinary site design firm, we are committed to delivering innovative solutions for residential, commercial, institutional, and municipal land development.

We’re seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineer or MA Registered PE to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a key part in designing and overseeing diverse projects, working closely with clients, municipalities, and stakeholders to bring creative site solutions to life.

This position offers unlimited growth potential, and within the next 12 months, there is an opportunity for future participation in management and ownership of the firm as we move toward an employee-owned model. This transition presents an exciting path for the right candidate to take on greater leadership responsibilities over time.

What You’ll Do:

· Design and prepare site development plans using AutoCAD/Civil 3D for a range of projects, from residential subdivisions to commercial and institutional developments.

· Utilize HydroCAD to develop effective stormwater runoff models and design stormwater management systems to MADEP standards.

· Navigate the local and state permitting process, preparing reports and presenting projects at public meetings.

· Conduct site visits and monitor construction progress to ensure compliance with regulations and design specifications.

· Collaborate with the team on business development, proposal writing, and project planning.

What We’re Looking For:

· Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE)

· EIT Certification (with the ability to obtain PE within 5 years)

· 5+ years of experience in site design, grading, drainage, and permitting in Massachusetts

· Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D & HydroCAD

· Strong knowledge of stormwater hydrology/hydraulics and land development permitting

· Familiarity with land surveying techniques and construction administration

· Ability to work independently and collaborate in a dynamic team environment

· Excellent communication and project management skills

· Soils Evaluator Certificate and Septic Design Experience a plus!

· Current MA PE License a plus!

· Massachusetts residency preferred
