Substitute BCBA: September, 2026 through January, 2027
The ELC is located in Vernon Hills (Lake County), Illinois; is a special education cooperative providing services to students identified with special needs, ages 3 through 22 years of age. The ELC represents Kildeer Countryside Community Consolidated School District 96, Lincolnshire-Prairie View School District 103, Adlai E. Stevenson High School District 125 and Fox Lake District 114.  The ELC serves eight elementary schools, four junior high/middle schools and one high school.
Description:
As we continue to provide world-class, specialized educational services and supports locally for our exceptional learners in partnership with families and districts, the Substitute Occupational Therapist will support our students with a variety of needs in a more structured learning environment.
The approximate timeframe for this role is September of 2026 through January of 2027.
Location:
Kildeer Countryside School District 96: Elementary
Qualifications: 
Ability to travel within the member districts of the ELC.










Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement and coordinate positive behavior support plans and intervention techniques.
  • Collaborate with the district's problem solving teams including parents when a student exhibits severe behaviors in the school environment.
  • Demonstrate expertise in the area of data collection and behavior analysis.
  • Assist in the writing of comprehensive functional assessments, behavior intervention plans, or programmatic recommendations for individual students.
  • Provide training in the use of data collection, positive behavior supports, intervention techniques, and instructional methodologies to educational staff.
  • Demonstrate/model behavior management ideas and/or techniques.
  • Consult with parents concerning the status of behavior in the home and recommendations that can be carried out in the home.
  • Develop materials and provide resources for and provide professional development to administrators, educators, paraprofessionals and parents/guardians in Applied Behavior Analysis and other evidence based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties.
  • Attend IEP, eligibility, or other meetings as necessary and provide related behavioral information.
  • Work with students who exhibit maladaptive/unexpected behaviors and provide support and professional learning for staff who work with the students who exhibit such.
  • Provide services for students that need support based on his/her IEP.
