  • Small, highly skilled tooling team with opportunity to mentor and influence others
  • Long-term stability and growth as part of MITER Brands

Key Responsibilities

    • 3D, 4th-axis, and 5th-axis CNC milling
    • Dual-spindle CNC lathes
    • Surface grinding and OD grinding
  • Manufacture, assemble, test, and implement precision tooling, dies, jigs, fixtures, and special equipment
  • Perform manual grinding and finishing when required
  • Apply heat-treating knowledge to achieve tooling performance and durability requirements
  • Maintain tight tolerances up to ±.0002" using precision measuring instruments
  • Perform quality repairs, tooling changeovers, and preventative maintenance across manufacturing tooling
  • Ensure tooling operates safely, efficiently, and consistently throughout the facility
  • Maintain documentation including tooling records, drawings, PM logs, and maintenance history
  • Troubleshoot tooling and process issues using sound technical judgment and cost-effective solutions
  • Operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly multi-tasked environment with a target-oriented approach

Qualifications
  • Advanced CNC machining background with demonstrated toolmaking experience or trajectory
  • Strong CAM experience required; CAD experience preferred
    • SolidWorks, Fusion 360, MasterCAM, AutoCAD, or similar
  • Thorough understanding of:
    • Tool and fixture design
    • Cutter selection and machining strategy
    • Heat treatment processes
    • Precision assemblies and tolerance stack-ups
  • Background in toolmaking, mold making, or aerospace machining strongly preferred
  • Senior-level capability typically gained through 4+ years of advanced CNC or toolmaking experience
  • Associate of Science in Machine Tool Technology or completion of a certified Machinist / Tool & Die apprenticeship preferred

Skills & Attributes
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
