Job description

Introduction:
Join our dedicated team as a Design Technician I, where you will support gas utility operations by interpreting technical documentation and maintaining accurate utility data systems. ENTRUST Solutions Group is an industry leader in engineering and utility services, known for delivering reliable infrastructure solutions that support communities and critical energy systems. In this role, you will be at the forefront of utility design and data support, contributing to projects across the gas industry

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will support utility design projects by learning to read and interpret technical documents related to gas operations and updating utility data systems to reflect provided documentation. Responsibilities include assisting with GPS surveys, overhead and underground line locating, inspections, testing, and documentation of power distribution, gas distribution, telecom facilities, rights‑of‑way, and related infrastructure. You will complete design‑related tasks such as drafting, basic calculations, easement validation, cost estimating, and permit package development while managing multiple assignments to meet productivity, quality, schedule, and budget expectations. You will work closely with senior technicians, engineers, managers, and project teams, participating in peer reviews and quality control checks, identifying data discrepancies, coordinating construction activities, and ensuring all work complies with company safety policies, design standards, and governing authority regulations.

  • This position pays between $21 and $24 hourly and is an non-exempt position. Benefits offered include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plan with company match. HSA or FSA medical accounts and FSA dependent care and transportation/parking accounts are also available. These benefits are subject to employee contribution amounts generally set annually. Full-time employees are eligible to earn PTO hours. May be eligible for discretionary bonus as determined by the company.]

Minimum Requirements:

  • Entry‑level position with a strong desire to learn and work in a technical field.
  • Prior experience in construction, utility, or pipeline environments is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) or GIS design tools is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of basic software programs such as Microsoft Office and ArcGIS.
