About the Role

To support our next phase of growth, Updater is seeking a Sr. Strategic Partnerships Manager to own and scale a portfolio of high-impact partners. In this role, you'll ensure both newly launched and fast-growing partners are fully integrated into the Updater platform and positioned to drive meaningful, sustained results.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives on end-to-end partnership ownership and is motivated by delivering clear, measurable outcomes. You'll play a critical role in strengthening our most strategic relationships while driving the operational excellence and performance gains that fuel growth.

Success in this role requires a strong analytical mindset-you're comfortable diving deep into performance data, identifying trends, and uncovering opportunities to grow each partnership. Just as importantly, you can translate that analysis into clear, compelling narratives that drive alignment and engagement with partners, turning insights into action.

As a Sr. Strategic Partnerships Manager, you'll lead the day-to-day execution and management of high-value service provider partnerships. This is an individual contributor role that demands a sharp balance of relationship management and operational discipline-ensuring telecommunications and home services partners hit performance targets while operating seamlessly within the Updater platform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner Relationship Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of regional accounts, managing regular communication, resolving operational hurdles, and maintaining long-term partner satisfaction.
  • Performance Execution & Reporting: Monitor and analyze partner KPIs, including sales volume, conversion rates, revenue, and margins. Prepare and present monthly performance recaps, assist in high-level business reviews, and act in a support role for leadership on the company's largest accounts.
  • Operational Oversight: Manage the technical and marketing "buyflow" for partners. This includes auditing digital customer journeys, ensuring API integrations are functioning correctly, and verifying that compliance and partner brand guidelines are met.
  • Partner Optimization: Utilize testing to identify opportunities to improve partner performance within the Updater ecosystem.
  • Monetization Growth: Proactively identify opportunities to increase average revenue per order (ARPO) by evolving partner compensation and commission structures. Help to facilitate negotiations for incremental incentives linked to high-value product tiers and premium service adoptions.
  • Program Administration: Handle the administrative lifecycle of partnerships, including tracking contract amendments, managing commission reconciliation, and coordinating with internal legal and compliance teams for industry-specific regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in account management, partnerships, or business operations including direct experience with large national or regional companies in telecommunications, home service providers and/or utility companies.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools to track performance trends and build sales forecasts (e.g. Looker or similar business intelligence tools).
  • Detail Orientation: Strong ability to manage complex checklists and technical requirements for digital integrations.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting data-driven insights to mid-level and senior stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to effectively manage multiple partners and internal cross-functional projects simultaneously.
  • Ownership & Execution: Demonstrates a strong ownership mindset with a bias toward action-proactively identifying opportunities, taking initiative, and driving results end-to-end. Brings leadership in cross-functional environments, collaborates effectively across teams, and maintains a high level of attention to detail while managing complex partner initiatives
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with large-scale Telecommunications (ISP/Fiber/Wireless), Insurance, or Home Utility brands.
  • Experience within a SaaS or performance marketing environment
  • Familiarity with performance-based compensation models (e.g., CPC, CPL, or CPA).
  • Understanding of the relocation or "mover" journey and how essential home services are integrated into the moving process.
  • Strong technical fluency, including a working understanding of APIs, data integrations, and reporting tools; comfortable leveraging data systems to monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and identify opportunities to optimize partner outcomes.
Compensation

This role is expected to remain open until 7/31/2026. Compensation for this position is 90% base salary and 10% variable with the base salary range of $113,000-$130,000. Factors which may affect the starting pay within this range include skills, experience, and other qualifications aligned with Updater's internal leveling guidelines.
