As one of the nation's largest single-source providers of lighting and electrical products, electrical services, electrical construction, and energy management solutions, Facility Solutions Group is expanding their staff and seeking a Senior Solar Estimator to join the FSG team.

As a member of our Solar Solutions Team, you will work closely with Sales and Project Management teams to develop accurate cost estimates for commercial and industrial solar energy projects. You will leverage your technical expertise to assess project specifications, analyze costs, and ensure that our proposals meet customer expectations while maintaining FSG's commitment to quality and value.

Responsibilities

As an FSG Senior Solar Estimator, you will:

  • Collaborate with Sales teams to support quoting and closing solar energy projects.
  • Analyze project plans, specifications, and RFP documents to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Prepare and deliver detailed proposals that align with customer requirements and FSG standards.
  • Communicate with clients, vendors, and subcontractors to gather necessary project information.
  • Identify potential risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options to improve project success.
  • Recommend optimal system configurations and design modifications to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Assist in researching new solar technologies, equipment, and industry best practices.
  • Support internal teams by contributing technical insights and ensuring alignment across project phases.
  • Maintain accurate project data and track bid results in FSG's CRM, "Engage."
  • Proactively engage with customers, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the estimation and proposal process.
  • Ensure customers are aware of all FSG's solar and energy solutions to maximize opportunities.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and structural drawings.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information.
  • Proficiency in estimation software (such as Bluebeam, PVBid, or Accubid) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Contribute to the team by sharing knowledge, challenging ideas, and promoting collaboration.
  • Be accountable to yourself, your co-workers, vendors, and customers.
  • Positive and collaborative attitude with strong organizational skills.

Preferred:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in solar estimation, project management, or related fields.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • NABCEP Certification or equivalent industry credential.
  • Familiarity with solar PV systems, electrical codes, and industry standards.
  • Experience estimating battery storage and EV charging systems Using Accubid.
