We're hiring a Solar Performance Modeling Consultant to help us strengthen a key capability in Kumo SolarTypeRemote / Contract / Part-time / Project-basedRole DescriptionIn this role, you will be responsible for helping build the actual backend modeling capability that powers this part of Kumo Solar.You will:Build or prototype the backend logic for 3D solar project modelingDevelop methods for shading analysis and shading loss calculationTranslate site geometry, layout, terrain, and surrounding obstructions into performance-impacting model inputsDefine how shading should be represented and computed in the systemHelp structure the technical logic so it can be integrated into productionWork closely with our software engineer, who can support productionization and system integrationQualificationsWe are looking for someone with:Professional experience in solar engineeringPV performance modeling, or related technical modeling workStrong hands-on experience with 3D modeling for solar projectsStrong understanding of shading analysis and how shading affects energy yieldExperience building, scripting, or implementing technical modeling workflows in codeAbility to independently translate engineering logic into backend systems or computational workflowsNice to HaveExperience with industry-standard solar tools used for layout, modeling, or performance analysisExperience working with geometry-based or simulation-based calculationsFamiliarity with Python or other backend-friendly technical scripting environmentsExperience turning engineering workflows into reusable software logicJ-18808-Ljbffr
