Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer Graduate to join our team in our Colorado Springs office. The qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an ability to develop construction documents in a collaborative environment of engineers within Bridgers & Paxton and working with architects and other engineers within the Rocky Mountain region.
In this position, the ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in mechanical design for the built environment and be capable of equipment selection, mechanical plan layout, specification writing, coordination with other consultants and team members, and client interaction. Other requirements include:
  • Four year college degree from an ABET accredited engineering program
  • Fundamentals of Engineering certification is a plus
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and other design related software
  • Knowledge of various Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire, Energy Conservation, and Fuel Gas codes
  • Create, read and interpret mechanical systems, drawings and specifications
  • Maintain rapport with industry vendors and stay up to date on the latest mechanical system trends and solutions appropriate to building technologies and design/construction industry
  • Develop and design within a BIM design environment
  • Collaborate with the internal and external project team to execute a project from concept to completion including meeting attendance, site visits, response to RFIs, submittal review and responses
  • Travel to jobsites throughout the state and region
  • Communicates well verbally, in writing, and graphically, with other engineers, clients, and code authorities.
