Job description

We are seeking a Senior Service Technician to join our service team. Our technicians are responsible for assessing and completing work orders for repairs and improvements. You will play a key role in helping us maintain and enhance the value of our apartment community in Arlington, VA.

What the Senior Service Technician will be doing:

  • Coordinating and supervising daily assignments and activities of service staff.
  • Completing maintenance service requests that include electrical, plumbing, HVAC and appliance repairs, as well as managing department service requests.
  • Handling apartment turnover process and scheduled maintenance projects.
  • Working on-call maintenance service rotation; weekend and weather-related work as needed; and responding to and rectifying property emergencies.
  • Maintaining common areas, grounds and the interior and exterior of buildings.
  • Supervising department and contracted staff and vendor relations; handling department inventory controls.
  • Assisting Property Manager as needed, including department budget planning, property inspections and coordination of maintenance projects.

What the Senior Service Technician will need to succeed:

  • 5+ years residential apartment maintenance and 2+ years staff supervisory experience.
  • HVAC certification and experience.
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Medium/heavy work requiring prolonged/repeated standing, walking, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching; lifting 100lbs max, with frequent lift/carry up to 50 lbs. Climb vertical ladders and work at heights of varying degrees.Ā  Able to work indoors and outdoors in all types of weather
  • Access to property within 30 minutes for on-call maintenance service requests.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
