Role and Responsibilities

Position is responsible for the accurate recording and maintenance of financial transactions with a primary focus on fixed asset accounting, month-end close activities, audit support, and risk-based open item review. Responsibilities will be centered on fixed asset lifecycle management, timely and accurate journal entry preparation, internal system risk-based open item identification and resolution, and cross-functional collaboration to support financial reporting integrity. Position will operate with a moderate level of independence under the direction of the Sr. Manager of Corporate Accounting.

Role Responsibility:

  • Own and manage full-cycle fixed asset accounting, including asset capitalization, depreciation, disposals, transfers, impairment considerations, and related balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Record and reconcile accurate and complete accounting transactions in the general ledger on a timely basis, ensuring proper coding, documentation, and support in accordance with internal guidelines and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

  • Participate in the Company's month-end close process, including timely preparation of assigned journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.

  • Perform internally-defined risk-based reviews within assigned account areas, identifying aged or unresolved items, escalating risk items to management, and executing resolution and clearing plans.

  • Support internal and external audit activities by preparing accurate and complete audit support packages, schedules, and documentation in response to audit requests.

  • Perform bi-annual inspections and audits of the Company's assets, along with assisting with physical inspections of inventory for the Company's warehouses across the United States.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Operations, IT, and tax to ensure proper accounting treatment, timely settlement of asset-related expenditures, and capex reporting for tax filing.

  • Utilize AI and technology tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of fixed asset and close activities.

  • Perform ad hoc projects and financial analysis as requested by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field from a four-year college or university.

  • 4-6 years of accounting experience with responsibility for General Ledger maintenance, monthly close participation, and account reconciliations.

  • Fixed asset accounting experience preferred

  • Experience working with and providing support to cross-functional business teams.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to identify discrepancies and inconsistencies

  • Strong attention to details is of paramount importance in this role

  • Diplomacy and ability to deal with difficult situations

  • Excellent Oral & Written Communication Skills

  • Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word & Excel) V-lookup and Pivot tables (Macros a+)

  • AI tool implementation and usage skills in the job function preferred

  • Attitude towards work and timeliness in completing daily tasks

  • Sense of urgency to get it done required Relationship Management

  • Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment
