Job description

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Senior Safety Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and directing all safety, health, and environmental programs across large, complex project sites or multiple simultaneous projects. This role serves as the senior advisor to executive leadership, project management, client representatives, and regulatory agencies on all matters involving risk mitigation and compliance. This is an onsite position.

PRINCIPLE AREAS OF RESPONSIBLITIES

  1. Oversee planning and administration of comprehensive Health, Safety and Environmental programs for major or multiple project sites.
  1. Lead development of advanced site-specific safety orientation programs.
  1. Evaluate and deliver advanced training based on inspections, audits, and investigations.
  1. Implement structured audit and inspection programs to ensure compliance.
  1. Lead or oversee investigation of significant accidents, incidents, and near misses.
  1. Oversee implementation of substance abuse policies.
  1. Ensure maintenance of first aid facilities and injury management procedures.
  1. Provide regular updates and analytics to project and corporate leadership.
  1. Serve as senior CCIP representative when applicable.
  1. Lead and mentor safety staff, developing team competency and performance.
  1. Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  1. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in the Construction Safety field, including at least 4-6 years in a senior or leadership role.
  1. Should have previously demonstrated success at the level of Safety Manager for three (3) or more years.
  1. Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  1. Expected to have completed the OSHA 30, 500/510 outreach program
  1. STS, CHST required; CSP or ASP preferred
  1. Maintain a current First Aid / CPR card
  1. Will have completed certification in Substance Abuse Testing
  1. Be familiar with and demonstrate working knowledge of CCIP Programs and Claims Management
