The primary responsibilities of the Safety Advisor (Indiana( shall be to manage and administer project specific safety activities as outlined within the company safety program. Providing support and assistance to facilitate and implement project safety plans, mentoring, and advising project teams on risk management strategies. If you put SAFETY first, focus on producing high quality work, embrace technology to be more efficient and enjoy working with a diverse group of people, then Meyer Najem is where you want to work.  Would consider relocation for the right candidate.

Position Responsibilities

  • Perform random 360 safety management inspections of project sites 
  • 360 safety observation reporting
  • Dedicated safety representative for various projects
  • Participate in incident investigations
  • Participate in OSHA inspections
  • Facilitate and implement safety pre-planning activities for various projects
  • Assist in the problem-solving process to address safety issues at the job site   
  • Attend safety training as provided by the employer   
  • Representative of the Meyer Najem safety program to prospective clients, customers, employees, and subcontractors
  • Collaborative work environments
  • Local/Regional Travel ~50%

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least a High School diploma or GED required
  • Five (5) years or more of construction safety experience
  • Completion of OSHA 510 (30-Hour OSHA Construction Training)
  • Completion of OSHA 500 preferred
  • Technical understanding of the CFR 1926 and 1910 OSHA standard manuals
  • Possess current/valid driver's license and have reliable transportation

Physical Requirements of the job:

  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders without assistance
  • Ability to walk for long periods of time unaided
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds without assistance
  • Work in various weather conditions and construction environments
