Job description

Overview

The Senior Lift Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing and assisting in the operation of chairlifts by completing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions. 


Responsibilities
  • Ensuring proper operation of chairlifts and personnel by completing preventative maintenance of APU's, electric motors and line gear following manufacturers' maintenance manuals; troubleshooting malfunctions and training personnel in the proper operation
  • Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; and checking for overheating
  • Removing defective parts by dismantling devices, using come-a-longs, cranes, heavy equipment, rigging, hand and power tools; examining and diagnosing cause of failure and correcting the condition
  • Maintaining equipment, parts and supplies inventory and conserves resources by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate equipment, parts and supplies and using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results
  • Preparing operational and maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information
  • Maintaining technical knowledge
  • Meeting service level objectives and department goals as set forth by immediate supervisor

Qualifications
  • You have achieved a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • You possess five years experience with ski lifts
  • Metal fabrication/welding skills 
  • Knowledge of low voltage controls
  • Rigging experience
  • NDT level 2 preferred
  • You are able to work in various weather conditions
  • You are able to crouch, sit and/or stand for long periods of time; able to climb ladders; frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
  • You are interested in working with a team to achieve a common goal
