Job description

Location: On-Site, Henderson, NV
Employment Type: Full-Time, W2

About the Role

Behavioral Health Solutions is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Senior RCM Billing Specialist to support our growing, multi-state healthcare organization. This role serves as the primary internal point of coordination between Behavioral Health Solutions (BHS) and its third-party billing partner. This role supports accurate and timely revenue cycle processes by facilitating communication, coordinating internal follow-up and documentation needs, and assisting with billing activities that remain the responsibility of BHS, including direct billing to certain state, local, or other governmental agencies as required.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary day-to-day liaison between BHS and the third-party billing company, coordinating questions, requests, issue resolution, and follow-up.
  • Coordinate internal support needed by the third-party billing company, including obtaining information, documentation, approvals, corrections, or clarification from appropriate BHS departments.
  • Track outstanding billing requests and issues, communicate status updates, and escalate unresolved or time-sensitive matters to the appropriate leadership.
  • Assist with direct billing to state, local, or other governmental agencies when billing is required to be completed by BHS rather than the third-party billing company.
  • Prepare, submit, and maintain supporting documentation for agency billing, invoices, claims, or reimbursement requests in accordance with applicable requirements and timelines.
  • Review billing and accounts receivable information for completeness and accuracy and assist with researching discrepancies, denials, rejections, payment variances, or missing information.
  • Support billing audits, payer or agency reviews, and requests for documentation by coordinating records and information with the appropriate internal teams.
  • Assist with maintenance of billing-related information within BHS systems, including fee schedules, charge rates, worklists, holds, and other billing configurations as assigned.
  • Support reconciliation and reporting activities related to billing, payments, accounts receivable, and other revenue cycle data as requested.
  • Maintain organized records of billing correspondence, submissions, agency requirements, outstanding items, and resolutions.
  • Handle confidential and protected health information in accordance with HIPAA, company policy, and all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Adhere to all applicable company policies, procedures, compliance requirements, audit activities, and reporting standards.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as directed by the supervisor.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare billing, revenue cycle, accounts receivable, or related experience preferred.
  • Experience working with third-party billing vendors, governmental agencies, or complex billing arrangements preferred.
  • Certification in Medical Billing and Coding preferred but not required.
  • Working knowledge of healthcare billing, accounts receivable, payer requirements, and basic medical terminology.
  • Ability to review billing data, reconcile information, identify discrepancies, and coordinate resolution with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience working with EHR and/or billing systems.
  • Strong communication, organization, follow-up, and problem-solving skills.

Why Join Us

  • Be part of a mission-driven healthcare organization making a meaningful impact
  • Work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with room to grow

  • Competitive Earnings
  • Hands-on Training and Supervision
  • Work-Life Balance
