Overview

The Radar Engineer, Senior is responsible for the design, development, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of advanced radar systems supporting missile seeker technologies.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, integrate, test, and evaluate advanced radar systems and subsystems supporting missile seeker and sensor technologies.
Apply technical expertise in radar system design utilizing magnetron-based and solid-state amplifier transmitter architectures.
Develop and implement radar signal processing algorithms including Fast Fourier Transform (FFT), Constant False Alarm Rate (CFAR), pulse compression, and Range/Doppler processing techniques.
Analyze and reconstruct Range/Doppler maps from In-Phase and Quadrature (I/Q) data streams to support target detection, tracking, and discrimination.
Design and evaluate coherent radar waveform modulation schemes including Linear Frequency Modulated (LFM) chirps, Barker codes, Binary Phase Shift Keying (BPSK), and related techniques.
Perform modeling, simulation, analysis, and performance assessments of radar and seeker systems.
Support laboratory integration, hardware testing, system validation, and field test activities.
Troubleshoot and resolve radar system design, integration, performance, and operational issues.
Develop software tools and applications to support radar analysis, signal processing, data collection, and system evaluation activities.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define system requirements, develop technical solutions, and support program objectives.
Prepare technical reports, test plans, analysis documentation, and engineering presentations.
Support proposal development, technical reviews, and customer briefings as required.
Stay current with emerging radar technologies, signal processing methodologies, and industry best practices.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements and Desired Skillsets
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in RADAR systems engineering, radar signal processing, or related defense/aerospace applications.
Comprehensive knowledge of radar system design, operation, and performance analysis.
Experience with missile seeker technologies, tracking systems, or sensor systems.
Strong understanding of radar waveform generation and modulation techniques including LFM chirps, Barker codes, BPSK, and pulse compression methods.
Experience developing and implementing radar signal processing algorithms such as FFT, CFAR, Doppler processing, filtering, and target detection techniques.
Proficiency in programming languages including C, C++, and/or C#.
Experience analyzing and processing I/Q data and generating Range/Doppler products.
Experience with radar testing, integration, validation, and troubleshooting activities.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance and ability to maintain the designated security clearance level is required.
Physical Description
Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, and laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software, and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a specialized laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software, and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
