Description:

The Senior Project Manager (SPM) will provide leadership, governance, planning, oversight, and coordination for California's Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG 9-1-1) migration program. The SPM will serve as the primary point of contact with Cal OES leadership and stakeholders and will ensure successful execution of statewide NG 9-1-1 migration activities.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead statewide NG 9-1-1 project planning, execution, monitoring, and control.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, risk registers, issue logs, and status reports.
  • Coordinate with Cal OES, PSAPs, vendors, telecommunications providers, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct executive briefings and program reviews.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee migration readiness activities and deployment schedules.
  • Support policy development and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Ensure contract deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
  • Provide leadership and direction to all project team members.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible project management experience.
  • Minimum four (4) years serving as Senior Project Manager on complex enterprise IT programs.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline (or equivalent experience substitution).
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification issued by PMI.
  • Experience managing large-scale public sector or enterprise technology projects.
