Job Details Responsibilities:
  • Manage all project accounting functions from project startup through closeout
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, and financial performance
  • Prepare and maintain accurate job cost reports, WIP schedules, and financial forecasts
  • Review subcontractor invoices, vendor billings, lien waivers, and payment applications for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist project managers with cost tracking, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Process owner billings and support accounts receivable collections activities
  • Coordinate month‑end and year‑end close activities related to assigned projects
  • Track contract changes, change orders, retainage, and contingency usage
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, company policies, and accounting procedures
  • Support audit requests and assist with preparation of financial documentation
  • Collaborate with operations, project management, payroll, and executive leadership teams to provide timely financial reporting and analysis
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
  • Strong understanding of construction job costing, WIP reporting, percentage‑of‑completion accounting, and project forecasting
  • Experience supporting commercial construction or specialty contracting projects preferred
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems such as Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, Sage, or similar platforms
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Knowledge of GAAP and construction accounting best practices
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with project teams and leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA designation or progress toward certification is a plus
  • Experience with multi‑state construction operations and compliance reporting
  • Familiarity with union payroll, retainage tracking, and contract administration
  • Prior experience working for a general contractor or specialty contractor preferred
