Position Summary:
The ECM Senior System Administrator manages operations associated with various imaging systems employed by the CSCU system to gather, archive and manage business content, including front-end scanning, Enterprise forms imports, Enterprise forms and workflow development, as welt as back-end systems and 3rd party integrations used to manage and store content. ECM Senior System Administrator functions as an internal consultant, managing standard operating procedures, resource person, and trainer to all levels of personnel, customer groups in accordance with the objectives of the CSCU System and Banner related suite of products.
The ECM Senior System Administrator leads business process analyses, needs assessment and cost/benefit analyses in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Organizes, directs and develops project team resources, working across the system, in order to effectively meet project commitments and business objectives. Proactively identifies enterprise wide ECM requirements and helps to communicate solutions as appropriate to the CSCU system or constituent units.
Example of Job Duties:
Under the direction of the Deputy Chief Information Officer, the ECM Senior System Administrator is responsible for managing operations associated with various imaging systems employed by the CSCU systemthrough effective performance in these essential duties:
  • Directs, coordinates and works collaboratively with the CSCU system-wide ECM teams to provide standardized solutions to meet the needs of the various divisions within the colleges and universities across the System.
  • Directs, maintains, implements, and supports the ECM application(s), at the system level by working closely with customers and vendor to troubleshoot and resolve all levels of issues.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains disk groups, document type groups, document types, keyword types, autofill sets, and scan queues for CSCU system.
  • Design, implement and maintain a security scheme for the campus group in compliance with system office standards, for colleges and universities across the System.
  • Is proactive in identifying enterprise wide application requirements and communicating solutions while promoting enterprise wide standardization, for CSCU application users.
  • Designs and creates custom queries based on campus group requirements, workflows based on business logic and processes, and supports other campus administrators in the design and creation of forms.
  • Works in "Project Team Environment" to assist in providing standardized solutions for clients.
  • Oversees system wide usage and evaluates/maintains data flows, middleware, and meta data to ensure systems connectivity, accuracy, and data management.
  • Oversees system wide vendor support, coordinating with staff on upgrades, maintenance outages, defining and establishing schedules, setting priorities, providing support, direction and coordination for multiple institutions, dealing with administrative issues across the enterprise.
  • Works directly with vendors and technical support staff on system wide ERP integration and upgrades, monitors and maintains SLAs and performance metrics, provides trouble shooting and performance tuning.
  • Support system efforts of records management, data retention policies and document conversion staff to ensure the efficient and effective utilization of systems to meet their operational requirements, for all institutions.
  • Designs, develops and implements automated procedures using document import processes.
  • Works closely with system campuses to analyze business needs and define associated ECM requirements.
  • May supervise professional staff and/or student workers.
  • Uses operational expertise to seek out, research and evaluate a variety of solutions to provide clients with high quality, efficient products.
  • Works in collaboration with the local and system office Administrative ERP system governance committees in support of ECM, data warehouse, analytics, data governance, data flow and digital retention policies.
  • Assist and directs discovery and documentation of business requirements for new solutions.
  • Other duties and responsibilities related to those described above which do not alter the basic level of responsibility of the position.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Management, or related subject.
Incumbents are required to have demonstrated advanced knowledge and abilities in the following:
  • A minimum of six years of demonstrated experience with the planning, developing and operation of business intelligence, document imaging, Enterprise workflow, records management, and/or reporting solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Project Management experience.
These qualifications may be waived for individuals with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Candidates must possess proven ability to effectively work with culturally, linguistically, and ethnically diverse faculty, staff, and students. They are expected to have excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills along with strong Information technology literacy skills such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams etc.).Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree
Starting Salary:
Minimum Salary; $102,542 approximate annual plus excellent State of CT medical insurance, retirement, and related fringe benefits. The salary will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications such as education and job-related experience, and internal equity.
