Wholegoods Shipping Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

The Wholegoods Shipping Supervisor oversees daily wholegoods warehouse outbound operations, ensuring accurate, safe, and timely processing of dealer orders. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF JOB

  • Lead and train shipping employees in accordance with current policy and procedures.
  • Ensure that all order items are processed efficiently, accurately, and without damage.
  • Oversee picking, packing, and loading of shipments to ensure dealer requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all documentation including bill of ladings, shipping labels, etc. are prepared per order. 
  • Communicate with all team members and other departments to complete tasks.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers and vendors to manage outgoing shipments and troubleshoot delays. 
  • Optimize employee workflow to benefit productivity by monitoring day-to-day demand and making adjustments.
  • Determine and track Warehouse KPIs and adjust as needed to meet goals. 
  • Aid in the interviewing/hiring of new employees. 
  • Ensure that the Warehouse associates are properly trained and up to date on all necessary certifications. 
  • Employee supervision duties to include:
    • Create and monitor schedules 
    • Processing weekly timecard entries, PTO requests, recording attendance discrepancies, etc.
    • Provide coaching and mentoring 
    • Issue corrective action when necessary 
    • Develop and monitor goals and objectives for each associate
    • Performance evaluations 

 

EDUCATIONAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required/2+ year degree preferred 
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, with 1 to 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures, equipment maintenance, and warehouse practices
  • Knowledge of Excel, WMS, ERP, and carrier specific tools (e.g., UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager)
  • Previous warehouse leadership experience preferred
  • Proper Forklift training required – Forklift certifications preferred 
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (6AM – 7PM) 
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills 
  • Able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods of time, and work in a non-climate control environment
