Resume du Role

Le superviseur de conception est responsable de diriger les activites quotidiennes de l'equipe de conception en ingenierie sous contrat tout en assurant la precision, la qualite et la coherence de toute la documentation d'ingenierie de production. Ce poste offre un leadership technique en examinant, approuvant, estampant et signant les plans de production avant leur sortie pour la fabrication.


Le superviseur de conception supervise la qualite des dessins, les normes d'ingenierie, les pratiques de modelisation Autodesk Inventor et la gestion des donnees de l'Autodesk Vault afin de s'assurer que tous les livrables d'ingenierie respectent les normes de l'entreprise, les exigences des clients et les codes de l'industrie applicables.


Travaillant en etroite collaboration avec la fabrication, la production, les achats, la qualite, les ventes et la gestion de projet, le superviseur de conception soutient l'execution efficace des produits, encadre le personnel de conception, equilibre la charge de travail departementale et mene des initiatives d'amelioration continue qui ameliorent la qualite, reduisent le temps d'ingenierie et augmentent l'efficacite de la fabrication.


Il s'agit d'un poste a 100 % sur site et vous travaillerez au quotidien aux cotes de votre equipe.


Principales Responsabilites

  • Superviser les activites quotidiennes de l'equipe de conception en ingenierie sous contrat.
  • Attribuez et priorisez les charges de travail pour respecter les calendriers de production et les echeances de projet.
  • Former, encadrer et developper le personnel de conception, nouveaux et existants, aux normes de l'entreprise, aux pratiques d'ingenierie et aux procedures de CAO.
  • Effectuez des evaluations techniques du travail des employes et offrez du coaching pour ameliorer la qualite et la productivite de la conception.
  • Examinez, approuvez, tamponnez et signez les dessins de production avant leur publication.
  • Assurez-vous que tous les plans de fabrication sont complets, precis et adaptes a la fabrication et a l'assemblage.
  • Verifiez la precision dimensionnelle, les tolerances, les listes de materiaux (BOM), les details de fabrication, les symboles de soudure et les instructions d'assemblage.
  • Examinez les changements d'ingenierie (ECR/ECO) et assurez-vous d'assurer une bonne mise en uvre dans toute la documentation publiee.
  • Maintenir les normes de qualite d'ingenierie et minimiser les erreurs de fabrication causees par la documentation de conception.
  • Maintenir les normes CAO de l'entreprise a l'aide d'Autodesk Inventor et Autodesk Vault.
  • Fournir un soutien en ingenierie a la fabrication et a la production.
  • S'assurer que la documentation soutient les exigences de fabrication et d'inspection.
  • Identifiez des occasions de reduire les heures d'ingenierie grace a des conceptions standardisees, a la modularisation, a l'automatisation et a l'amelioration des flux de travail.

Profil Academique et Experience

  • Baccalaureat en genie mecanique.
  • Etre inscrit comme ingenieur en formation (EIT) ou ingenieur professionnel agree (P.Eng.) aupres de l'Ordre des ingenieurs du Quebec, ou admissible a l'enregistrement, est considere comme un atout
  • 4 a 7 ans d'experience en conception mecanique dans un environnement manufacturier.
  • L'experience en conception d'equipements industriels, de systemes CVCA, de recipients sous pression ou de machines sur mesure est consideree comme un atout.

What We're Looking For:

The Design Supervisor is responsible for leading the daily activities of the Contract Engineering Design team while ensuring the accuracy, quality, and consistency of all production engineering documentation. This position provides technical leadership by reviewing, approving, stamping, and signing production drawings prior to release for manufacturing.


The Design Supervisor oversees drawing quality, engineering standards, Autodesk Inventor modeling practices, and Autodesk Vault data management to ensure all engineering deliverables meet company standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry codes.


Working closely with Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing, Quality, Sales, and Project Management, the Design Supervisor supports efficient product execution, mentors design personnel, balances departmental workload, and drives continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, reduce engineering time, and increase manufacturing efficiency


This role is 100% on site and you'll be expected to work on a daily basis, side-by-side, with your team.


What You'll Do:

  • Supervise the daily activities of the Contract Engineering Design team.
  • Assign and prioritize workloads to meet production schedules and project deadlines.
  • Train, mentor, and develop new and existing design staff in company standards, engineering practices, and CAD procedures.
  • Conduct technical reviews of employee work and provide coaching to improve design quality and productivity.
  • Review, approve, stamp, and sign production drawings prior to release.
  • Ensure all manufacturing drawings are complete, accurate, and suitable for fabrication and assembly.
  • Verify dimensional accuracy, tolerances, bills of materials (BOMs), fabrication details, weld symbols, and assembly instructions.
  • Review engineering changes (ECR/ECO) and ensure proper implementation throughout released documentation.
  • Maintain engineering quality standards and minimize manufacturing errors caused by design documentation.
  • Maintain company CAD standards using Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Vault.
  • Provide engineering support to Manufacturing and Production.
  • Ensuring documentation supports manufacturing and inspection requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce engineering hours through standard designs, modularization, automation, and improved workflows.
  • Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
