Job Overview
The Senior Manager, Search Engine Marketing develops and implements comprehensive PPC strategies for key categories and products to drive sales, revenue growth, and efficiency. The Senior Manager conducts keyword research and analysis, manages and optimizes campaigns across platforms, and leverages analytics tools to track performance and report key metrics to senior leadership. The Senior Manager collaborates with site merchandisers and cross-functional teams to align campaigns with broader marketing initiatives, mentors junior PPC team members, and partners with internal teams to ensure landing pages, ad copy, and promotions are optimized for conversion. The Senior Manager develops and maintains paid-search investment plans, executes ongoing optimization to improve campaign performance, and stays current on emerging PPC technologies and techniques to keep the company ahead of the competition.
What You Will Do
  • Develop and implement PPC strategies for retail products that drive sales and revenue growth.
  • Manage and optimize search and shopping campaigns and product feeds across platforms such as Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Bing), applying deep knowledge of each platform's features and nuances.
  • Manage and optimize app campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and Apple Search Ads (ASA), applying deep knowledge of each platform's features and nuances.
  • Use Adobe Analytics and other tools to track performance, identify improvement opportunities, and report clear, concise results and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Marketing to align PPC campaigns with broader initiatives and key retail moments (e.g., major shopping and sale events) and ensure messaging is consistent, compelling, and customer-relevant.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging PPC technologies and techniques; provide thought leadership to the broader marketing organization.
  • Manage and mentor junior PPC team members, providing coaching, feedback, and support while contributing to broader marketing initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Development, and E-commerce teams to optimize landing pages and ad copy for conversion, leveraging A/B testing and conversion-rate optimization best practices.
  • Develop and manage PPC budgets to maintain profitability and comply with financial guidelines while identifying opportunities to scale and expand campaign efforts.
  • Build ad hoc testing and performance-improvement plans to achieve revenue and efficiency targets.
  • Execute ongoing optimization to improve campaign performance and identify opportunities for innovation and experimentation to stay ahead of the competition.
  • Foster an environment of acceptance and respect that strengthens relationships, and ensures authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.

  • PPC Strategy & Growth Orientation: Strong skill in designing and executing PPC strategies for retail categories and products that drive revenue growth, efficiency, and ROAS improvement.
  • Search & Shopping Platform Expertise: Deep hands-on expertise in Google Ads and Microsoft Advertising (Bing), including the ability to optimize search and shopping programs using platform-specific features and levers.
  • App Campaign Management: Proven ability to manage and optimize app acquisition and engagement campaigns across platforms such as Google Ads and Apple Search Ads (ASA).
  • Shopping Feed & Catalog Management: Strong skill in managing product feeds and resolving feed quality issues using feed management tools (e.g., ProductsUp) to improve shopping performance at scale.
  • Measurement, Analytics & Performance Reporting: Advanced ability to use Adobe Analytics (and related analytics tools) to monitor performance, identify trends and opportunities, and deliver clear, decision-ready reporting and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Attribution & KPI Optimization: Working knowledge of attribution approaches and measurement platforms (e.g., Adobe, Google Analytics) with the ability to optimize across the full customer journey against KPIs such as CPA, CPI, ROAS, and ROI.
  • Testing, Experimentation & CRO: Strong skill in developing hypotheses, running structured tests (creative, formats, audiences, landing pages), and applying A/B testing and conversion-rate optimization best practices to improve results.
  • Budget & Investment Management: Ability to build and manage PPC budgets and investment plans, maintain profitability within financial guidelines, and identify opportunities to scale and expand campaign efforts.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Ability to collaborate effectively with Marketing, Site Merchandising, Creative, Development, and E-commerce teams to align campaigns with major retail moments and ensure consistent messaging and strong onsite conversion.
  • Leadership, Coaching & Team Development: Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members through coaching, feedback, and day-to-day guidance while contributing to broader marketing initiatives.
  • Executive Communication & Influence: Ability to lead conversations with senior leadership and cross-functional partners, present insights clearly and concisely, and influence decisions in a matrixed environment.
  • Program & Project Management: Strong skill in managing multiple campaigns and initiatives simultaneously, prioritizing effectively, and delivering outcomes against competing deadlines.
  • Strategic, Creative & Technical Problem Solving: Ability to think strategically and creatively while staying close to technical details to diagnose issues, unlock performance, and drive continuous improvement.
